A Reward-Based, Positive Training Philosophy
Sammye's Dogs' training employs humane, effective training founded on the latest scientific evidence. Our protocols are designs by Certified Professional Dog Trainers to set you and your dog up for success from the start. The methods we use furthers progress toward a more compassionate relationship between humans and animals and is void of fear, force, or intimidation.
We are positive reinforcement, reward-based and commonly utilize reinforcers such as treats, toys to teach concepts in game-style ways. We mark desirable behaviors using a "clicker" or marker word such as "YES!".
In our training, we work together one-on-one in your home or as a team in group classes tackling training goals through achievable increments. During our weekly sessions, we explain, demonstrate, and coach you through training your dog. We create a training plan, assign manageable homework in between sessions, and are there for you every step of the way!
How do we do it?
1) Teaching and reinforcing desirable behaviors so they will be more likely to occur in the future.
2) Preventing and interrupting undesirable behaviors without the intentional use of physical or psychological intimidation.
3) Taking the learner’s physical and emotional wellbeing into account.
4) Continuing to educate oneself with the goal of employing humane, effective training based on the latest scientific evidence.

About The Owner
Sammye Darling,
BS Hons., CPDT-KSA
My name is Sammye Darling and I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer Knowledge and Skills Assessed (CPDT-KSA) who has over a decade of experience with training dogs. My passion began with rescuing homeless dogs making them more adoptable and helping the adoptions stick and training service animals for individuals with disabilities. I founded my own 501c3 non-profit in 2015 to do just that!
My training is geared towards each client and dog individually. I create training plans to achieve goals or behavior modifications with the owners to enhance owners' skills and the human-animal-bond with their beloved dogs. I provide followup emails that details the information we covered in our lessons. In addition to one-on-one training, I enjoy teaching group and zoom classes, and board-and-training in my home and owners' homes.
I help dog owners with dogs that are commonly described as high energy, overly excited, distracted, impulsive, fearful, stressed, anxious, reactive or dog aggressive. I help owners with concerns including but not limited to barking, whining, potty training, teething, destructive when alone, jumping, lunging, on people, pulling on or biting the leash, digging in the yard, counter surfing or stealing of food or objects, darting out doors, resource guarding, and fence, leash or dog aggression.
